While contemporary country music seems to be dominated by the linedance-craze, true Americana still exists... it's called the RANCH HOUSE FAVORITES. Formed in 1992 and influenced by the great western swing bands of the 1940's and 1950's, this 5-piece outfit strives to achieve
a sound that is at once authentic and timeless. Over the years, it has grown to become
one of the hottest European retro outfits to burn up a dance floor. So if you're in the
mood for a sentimental journey to the days when legendary artists like singing cowboy
Roy Rogers, hillbilly troubadours Hank Williams and Ernest Tubb, father of bluegrass
Bill Monroe and king of western swing Bob Wills painted the American musical
landscape, it's about time you checked out this rockin' Dutch band. All
dressed up in their western-style suits with matching ten-gallon hats and
razor-sharp cowboyboots, they really know how to get your place rocking with
their soul-stirrin' tearjerkers, hard-boppin' breakdowns and breath-takin' harmonies. Their traditional line-up allows them to perform fully-amplified as well as all-acoustic:

Bertie van der Heijdt
Richard Hoekstra
Ron Hokke
Ralf Wychgel
Herby Wagner

Upright Bass / Vocals
Electric Hollow Body Guitar / Vocals
Acoustic Guitar / Vocals
5-String Banjo / Harmonica / Vocals
Fiddle

Their '97 CD "Back to Texas and other Hillbilly Songs", containing 15 songs ranging from all-time                  hillbilly favorites like "Riders in the Sky" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky" to originals such                     as title-song "Back to Texas" and bluegrass-styled "Riding Home" was very well                                  received in the European Country & Western- and Rockabilly-scene, as                                     was their turn-of-the-millennium X-mas album "When it's Christmas on the                                   Range". Over the years, the Ranch House Favorites have toured a variety of                             countries and they have shared the stage with such famous artists as Bobby                          Bare, South Mountain, Dale Watson & his Lonestars, Buddy Miller and, last but                           not least, 'King of Honky-Tonk Swing' Hank Thompson.
